Bop Till You Drop-Three Evenings Of Dance Lessons And Dancing In The Café Theatre

Napa, CA– Find your inner Rumba, Swing and Cha Cha during three nights of dance lessons in the Napa Valley Opera House Café Theatre this summer. Dance veterans Angie Major and Patrick Gallineaux will teach two styles during the first hour of each evening, followed by dancing for all. The Saturday, June 2 event features the Waltz and Rumba, Saturday, July 7 the Swing and Foxtrot, and the Friday, August 17 evening the American Style Tango and Cha Cha. Admission is $67.50 for all three events or $25 per evening. The ticket price includes one free non-alcoholic beverage.

Angie Major began teaching dance in the North Bay in 1995 and received her teaching degree in the American style dances from the Terpsichore Association, the United States Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, and Dance Vision International Dance Association. She joined the Metronome Dance Center in 1999, teaching the Rhythm (American style Latin) classes, as well as private lessons and group classes in all styles of dance. In 2003, Angie danced a featured role in Swing, the Movie and also danced in KQED's Big Band Magic. Currently she competes in the Professional American Style Rhythm with her partner Patrik Gallineaux.

Patrik Gallineaux is a New York Native who grew up in his family dance studio, later performing in shows on cruise ships, theme parks, and regional musical theatre productions across the country. He has danced on television for MTV/VH1 productions and has choreographed an original production for three-time Oscar winning composer Ray Evans. Patrik’s favorite stage roles to date include Riff in West Side Story, dance captain for Victor/Victoria, and he was most recently seen as a Wickersham in Seussical, The Musical in San Francisco. Currently he can be seen in the nationwide release of the film 24 Hours on Craigslist. Patrik teaches ballroom dance and can be found frequently at the Metronome Dance Center in San Francisco.

More than 30 years in the making, The Napa Valley Opera House, a national historic landmark, restored the Margrit Biever Mondavi Theatre in June 2003, a second-floor theatre that was originally constructed in 1879. The NVOH 2007 Fall Season marks the fifth year of programming in the intimate 500-seat theatre, the “Jewel of Napa Valley” located in the heart of downtown Napa.
